Be extra careful with fireworks.
ORANJESTAD – The Department of Public Health (DVG) invites the community to enjoy fireworks responsibly.
Here are some points to keep in mind:
- Protect elderly persons from toxic smoke, wear earplugs to protect ears, and do not leave the person alone if fireworks cause fear.
- Protect young children from toxic smoke, wear earplugs to protect ears, and do not let them light fireworks without adult supervision.
- Protect your pet: preferably keep it inside and give it a sedative as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Protect yourself and others: continue to protect yourself from COVID-19, keep your distance, celebrate with family, and avoid crowds.
Be more aware of New Year's Eve and celebrate responsibly.
No more people and animals suffering burns on our island; let's protect ourselves!
