Appointment of Mr. drs. Marion Agunbero as Aruban member of the Aruba Financial Supervision Board

ORANJESTAD - On June 21, 2024, the Kingdom Council of Ministers approved Aruba's nomination to appoint Mr. drs. Marion Agunbero as an Aruban member of the College Aruba Financial Supervision (CAft) effective August 1, 2024.

He succeeds Ms. Hellen van der Wal, who cannot be reappointed further after two terms.

Mr. Agunbero has extensive experience in the financial sector, including public finance, and held various positions at, among others, the Central Bank of Aruba as manager of the supervision department and at the Department of Finance of the Land, of which he was director. 

In addition, he served as executive director of the Aruba tourism industry's pension fund and had several jobs at Caribbean Mercantile Bank N.V., including assistant managing director for retail products. 

He is currently a member of the Supervisory Board of Caribbean Mercantile Bank N.V. and a member of the Advisory Board of Aruba. He will resign effective immediately to take up the new position at CAft.
