Compensation for pensioners increased by Awg. 30,00 per month
ORANJESTAD - The Ministry of Finance and Culture announced recently that compensation (reparatietoeslag) for pensioners will increase with Awg. 30,00, bringing the total to Awg. 200,00 starting in August 2024.
During the 2024 Budget Amendment, the government will allocate funds to increase the compensation for pensioners and workers. However, the calculation of how much this can increase for pensioners receiving AOV and AWW and for workers earning a salary below Awg. 2500,00 per month is still pending.
This Awg. 30,00 increase on the Awg. 170,00 compensation for pensioners will take effect from August 2024. It means that all SVB pensioners will receive Awg. 200,00 in compensation with the pension payment on July 31, 2024. According to the SVB, a total of Awg. 19,548,00 AOV pensioners and Awg. 1,336,00 AWW pensioners will receive this Awg. 200,00.
Beginning in August 2024, employees making less than Awg. 2500,00 per month will receive a compensation increase of Awg. 50,00, totaling Awg. 175,00. The Tax Department will soon publish the table to make this increase official.
