ORANJESTAD- On April 29, 2024, the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) presented its annual accounts for 2023 to the Minister of Tourism and Public Health, Mr. Dangui Oduber.

Also present were the ATA management, ATA Board, AHATA management, and a representative of the accounting firm Grand Thorton.

The results indicate that 2023 is the best year in history for Aruba’s tourism.

The tourism policy is based on:

  1. Attracting affluent and quality tourists;
  2. Diversifying our tourism by innovating the product Aruba;
  3. Continuously invest in the improvement of the product Aruba;  
  4. Growth in sustainable tourism. 

ATA presented the indicators that measured the achievements for 2023, where it used 90% of the marketing and promotion budget. The principal indicators measuring the results are tourism receipt, tourism arrivals, and average daily spending. Tourism receipts grew by 13.4% compared to 2019, indicating a robust recovery with more money circulating in our economy.   

The most significant growth is in the principal market, North America. ATA executes its marketing strategy in various markets, like North America, South America, and Europe. Each market has its marketing to promote and adapt the message. 

The Ministry of Tourism is responsible for the continuous growth of Aruba’s economy while leading with sustainable tourism practices. Sustainability and innovation projects aligned with the vision for a more resilient and innovative tourism sector integrating new technology to improve the total visitor experience. ATA presented its Destination Development Plan that illustrates all the projects for more sustainable tourism.
